UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) South East Awards
Vectair is proud to announce this month our success at the second UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) South East awards where we were named as winner of the Emerging Markets award for our export success in new and growth markets overseas. This is the second award we have been presented with in the two years that the awards have been in operation - a fantastic achievement for the Company.
Roger Baker, and Dave O'Donoghue, Vectair Export Sales Managers accepted the award from Rory Pereira, Director of Trade at UKTI, and Richard West, formerly of McLaren and Williams Formula 1 teams, at the UKTI International Awards dinner at Mercedes Benz World at Brooklands on Thursday 22 March.
Rory Pereira commented:"Vectair Systems is a company synonymous with innovation, energy and flair, and it has made significant progress in entering growth markets in Asia, the Middle East, Russia and South Africa. It has immersed itself in the new marketplaces and developed multi-lingual personnel and local staff to provide an added dimension, which broadens its international potential and attraction of the company. Translating a robust strategy into capturing lucrative sales, the company's total export turnover has increased by more than double between 2004 -2006. It is therefore a very deserving winner of the Emerging Market Award".
Lewis Scott, Director of Trade & Investment at UKTI South East, also commented:
"Vectair Systems deserve our praise. Moving into an overseas market can seem a daunting step, and doing so into an emerging, high growth, market even more so. But the rewards can be significant and Vectairs' success confirms that UK firms have the capability to seize such opportunities."
These awards were the culmination of a series of events that took place across the South East in March as part of UKTIs' International Month.

Donation to charity
Thank you to all of our customers who sent us Greeting Cards and Best wishes for the New Year. Vectair chose, instead of sending cards for 2006, to make a donation to the following UK Charities:
Hospice in the Weald is an organisation specialising in palliative care nursing and medical support as well as family support for 12 bedded in patients and day therapy centre across West Kent and East Sussex. They currently receive less than 10% funding from the government making them one of the lowest funded Hospices in the country. According to Steve Lane, the Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager, our donation will go towards opening 2 new beds by March 2007. www.hospiceintheweald.org.uk
The Make-a-Wish Foundation has been granting the wishes of children and young people aged 3 to 17 living with life threatening illnesses since 1986. Our donation will go towards helping these wishes come true anything from a holiday for the whole family of a sick child or decorating the room of a child in their favourite colours! It has now granted over 4000 wishes. www.make-a-wish.org.uk

Babyminder re-certification against standard EN12221-2000
Vectair are pleased to advise that after 3 months of stringent testing and trials our Babyminder® changing table has, for the second time, been passed against European standard EN12221-2000 parts 1 and 2.
Although EN12221-2000 is a standard for changing tables for domestic use, and not specifically required for the sale of the Babyminder® unit, Vectair pro-actively took the decision to proceed with testing to ensure the safety and certification of the units before sale. Original certification for the Babyminder® had already been gained in the year 2000.
News has since emerged that a number of competitors tables have been removed from the walls by the French Government for being non-compliant with this standard.

"Building" New contracts - Legoland customer sucess
Vectair is always pleased to hear of their customers success stories and Calber Facilities Management have had recent success with the new Vectair Omniscent® fragrance unit, recently installing the product into all of the public washrooms in the Legoland theme park, Windsor. The Omniscent® product was chosen due to its continuous and consistent fragrance delivery to extremely heavily used washrooms. The feedback from Legoland Staff and Visitors alike has been fantastic.
Louise Blackwell, Business Development Manager for Calber commented:
“Calber Facilities Management is a privately owned company, was founded in 1987 and has grown organically over the last 20 years- encompassing client request and requirements so much that the company is now able to offer a full facilities management package. In order to enhance and improve the service Calber provided, it was decided that we should offer our own in house washroom service that the Company could control from implementation to completion.
Calber went through a stringent process of selecting the right product range for our clientele. The Vectair range met with expectations as it delivers innovative products and support that would complement the first rate service that Calber strive to deliver to their clients.
The Legoland contract was originally awarded to Calber due to our fresh approach to washroom services backed by stylish product. Calber are looking forward to another highly successful year!”
LEGO was founded by Ole Kirk Christiansen in 1934. The name comes from the Danish words "Leg godt", meaning "Play well". The first LEGOLAND opened in Billund, Denmark in 1968. In 1996 LEGOLAND Windsor opened, using 25 million LEGO bricks. Today, LEGOLAND Windsor currently offers over 50 interactive rides and attractions, 11 restaurants and cafés and seven shops. At its peak, LEGOLAND Windsor employs up to 155 full time staff and a further 775 seasonal staff and sold nearly 60,000 annual visitors passes in 2006!!
Legoland washrooms are also fragranced by Vectairs’ Airoma® Aerosol dispensers and have Vectairs’ Femcare® sanitary units in their cubicles, all serviced by Calber.
